Thank you thank you thank you ❤️ I'm finally able to use my hands again and feeling beyond grateful for the miracles of modern medicine this week. So grateful for your love ❤️

My worst eczema was in my teenage years, I remember been lathered in cream around my neck. Mittens to stop me scratching. I've tons of empathy for you. The flareups are awful. The weepy wounds. I get it. SO sending you cooling hugs and distracting films or ideas to take your mind off the cycles of itch/pain. Thanks for sharing, typing and being here...even if you're all thumbs ;-) (sorry had to be said!). You're doing amazingly!

Oh Victoria, I'm so grateful for this and so sorry you know this experience. The mittens and weepy wounds — yes. Thank you so much for sharing this, it really is always so comforting when someone shares they've been through it, too (whatever it is). Makes it feel less lonesome. I'm so glad that the worst of yours seems well behind you ❤️🙏🏼 Fingers crossed that this was my rock bottom (always worth hoping for!)🤞🏼🙌🏼

You're very welcome, Miriam! I hope it's easing now (touch wood!) I hear you. I have stress-flare-ups... which are somewhat predictable, we always have a supply of clobetasol propionate (Dermovate) in the house but it's strong and thins the skin, so can only be used sparingly, ask your doctor about it if that can help. sending cooling thoughts and best wishes, with gentle hugs.

This comment made me laugh which made my day. Sorry for the slow reply (I've finally recovered the function of my hands!) — but I did see it when I was still in the thick of it. So thank you Aidan 🥲

You know, when it’s your child, (hopefully) you don’t bat an eye and you care with overflowing love at whatever is going on, no questions asked.

So your partner is treating you this way.

What a beautiful gift.

As I’m sure you would for him should he god forbid ever need it.

It’s funny sometimes life gives us these things so we can learn to accept the love we sometimes don’t believe we deserve.

Just a thought.

Great poem 🌻

This gave me goosebumps — you're so right. Thank you for reading and sharing, Jennifer. It's so so so much easier to share this love for those you love than it is to accept it. I read somewhere recently (I've been trying to remember where because I want to revisit it after this experience) about the gift of learning to accept love, and how it's a healthy practice for both the giver and receiver when we learn to accept love with openness and grace.

That feels true to me, I'm working on that! Thank you for this reminder and kindness ❤️

I want my kids to see that I can accept love and help, so they can feel they inherently deserve the same.

It’s always so much easier to look through the lens of our kids and apply it to ourselves (for most people).

You deserve all the love and support you need, without ever feeling like you then owe someone.

❤️

Thank you so much for this, Maria!! My hands are back to functional and I've never been more grateful to tend to the mundane tasks of life (and to modern medicine :)) 🙏🏼
