Miriam, I just stumbled across your Substack. This is such a lovely post and so wonderfully captures this special moment. It reminds me of so many restless, sleepless nights with my little ones. Wishing you and your family the best 😊

Thank you Jacob, for being here and for sharing! I really relate to your April Fools video where you say we know writing is an iterative process, but… we want it to be perfect. I really feel that any and every time I write about my boy and our relationship. It never feels like I’m capturing it quite as well as I wish I could, but alas.

Also, I LOVE what you’re doing — just checked out your work and am so inspired by your voice. I’m so glad you found me & so excited to follow dad trying.

Where in the Midwest are you? I’m in St. Louis!

Thank you for the kind words Miriam! So happy to connect through the serendipity that is Substack! 🤣 I look forward to following your work and catching up on your archive.

I hear you on the difficulty of capturing your experiences with your baby boy. There's something so impossible about trying to put these feelings about our children and our parenting experiences into words. I struggle with it often and have more or less accepted defeat 😅, but I'm trying my best (hence the title of my Substack).

We're near Indianapolis! Go Midwest!

Oof, I feel this in my chest. My little one is not teething but we are co-sleeping and the tossing and turning seems endless sometimes. But I remind myself that this time won’t last forever. I love our closeness and one day I know I will miss it. Thanks for sharing your words with us Miriam <3
